Investment policy State Joint Stock Company «Uzbekenergo» guides three priority directions of development of Electric Power Industry: 1.Technical re-equipment and modernization of Power Facilities provide: modernization of out-of-date equipment of Power Plants, introduction of advanced technologies, reduction of fuel consumption for electric power generation, implementation of measures for maintenance and replacement of process equipment, renovation of turbines, boilers, fuel supply systems and other works at Thermal Power Plants. 2.Reconstruction and further development of electrical network provide the reliability growth, flexible power transmission schemes and power loss enhancement, development of optimal arrangement of main and distributive power networks. 3.The construction of new generating capacities include the replacement of worn-out generating capacities, meet the projected growth of power consumption, implementation of modern technologies of power generation, environmental impact relief of power facilities. Within the framework of trend implementation of Electric Power Industry the following projects are underway: Tashkent Thermal Power Plant Modernization Project The agreement between the JBIC and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan was signed, where the Government of Japan provides the soft loan at the amount of JY 24 955 billion for implementation of this project for the period of 30 years. The Feasibility Study for «Tashkent TPP Modernization Project» has developed and approved. The construction of Combined Cycle Power Plant 370MW capacity had specified at Tashkent TPP site with commissioning in 2011. The International Consulting Company had selected based on International Competitive Bidding for project support and the contract for provision of Consulting Services with JV JPOWER/CEPCO, Japan was signed. Now, the Bid for EPC Contractor is underway. Navoi Thermal Power Plant Modernization Project The total capacity of Navoi TPP is 1250 MW. There are 2 units of 210 MW capacity, 4 units of 160 MW, 6 boilers and 5 turbines generating electric and thermal power. The project provides for construction of Combined Cycle Power Plant 350 MW capacity. The preliminary feasibility study on the project is developed. Construction of High Voltage Transmission Line-500 kV from Syr-Darya TPP to Substation «Sogdiana» The extension of High Voltage Transmission Line is 222km. The Board of IDB Directors had approved the project financing for the total amount of USD 25,1 mln. provided the installment and «sale» and «leasing» for the period of 15 years, including three-years grant period. The Project Feasibility Study had developed and approved. The International Consulting Company was selected for project monitoring by means of International Competitive Bidding. Tenders on delivery of the equipment are carried out. Contracts with winners of competitive bids are made. The works on the construction of transmission line are started. Construction of High Voltage Transmission Line 500 kV from Substation «Sogdiana to Talimardjan TPP with Outdoor Switchgear 500 kV at TPP» The project provides for construction of high voltage transmission line 500 kV with extension of 200 km from substation «Sogdiana» in Samarkand Region to Talimardjan TPP with outdoor switchgear 500 kV at TPP. The project implementation will be provided with borrowed finances of Islamic Development Bank and Reconstruction and Development Fund of Uzbekistan effective as of 2010. Construction of Gas Turbine Unit at Tashkent Heat Electric Generation Plant The design objective of «Tashkent HEGP Modernization Project» is generating efficiency enhancement, reliability of heat and electric supply of municipal consumers, meet the power growing demands. The Tashkent HEGP consists of 5 steam boilers with total steam productivity 415 t/h, built from 1939 to 1955, steam turbine with installed capacity 30 MW, built in 1954 and 7 hot-water boilers with total steam productivity 650 Gkal/h, built from 1963 to 1969. The Preliminary Feasibility Study of the Project had developed by design institute OJSC «Teploelectroproekt» for construction of Gas Turbine Unit at Tashkent HEGP. The construction of three Gas Turbine Units with capacity 25 MW each with hot-water boiler and reconstruction of existing boilers PTVM-100 with boiler efficiency improvement to 120 Gkal/h had specified within the project framework. The locally available funds and loans of international finance institutions are envisaged as the project source of funds. Construction of Tashkent External Power Supply Facilities The Project provides for «Construction of Tashkent External Power Supply Facilities, including S/s 220 kV with feeding of High Voltage Line 220kV, switching substation 110kV and S/s 110kV and cable line 110kV». The investment project objective is electric power of supply of new consumers of the central part of Tashkent and reliability improvement of running power supply facilities and population. The preliminary Project Feasibility Study has developed and approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Shift of Novo-Angren TPP's Boilers for all-the-year-round Coal Burning The Novo-Angren TPP consists of 7 Power Units 300 MW each capacity. The natural gas, coal and mazut are usable as a fuel. The natural gas used for power generation is entitled to be released due to shift of existing boilers to all-the-year-round coal burning of Angren field located close the Power Plant. The preliminary feasibility study of the Project is underway. Construction of «Kamolot» HPP at Chirchik-Bozsy chain. The construction of small Hydro Power Plant «Kamolot» with capacity 8 MW and annually power generation of 35,4 mln. kW/h are provided by the Project. The preliminary Project Feasibility Study has developed and it is under expertise review at present. The Project financing sources are under development. Installation of expansion machine-generator at Talimardjan and Syr-darya TPP The aim of the Project is the installation of expansion machine-generator at Talimardjan and Syr-darya TPP with total capacity 20 MW for additional generation 140 mln. kW/h of electric power. The preliminary Project Feasibility Study has developed and it is under expert review at present. The Project financing sources are under development. Last modified date: 07.02.2008 |
